Red Velvet Donuts with White Chocolate Ganache

Prep time: 15 minutes
Baking time: 8 minutes

Ingredients: Makes 7 Donuts
* 3/4cup All Purpose Flour
* 2tbsp Cocoa Powder
* 1/3cup Granulated Sugar
* 1tsp Baking powder
* Pinch of Salt
* 1 Egg
* 2tbsp Vegetable oil
* 1tsp Vanilla Extract
* 1/3cup Buttermilk
* 1/4 - 1/3tsp Red Food Coloring

For the White Chocolate Ganache:
* 1/4cup Whipping Cream
* 1 + 1/4cup White Chocolate chopped well

Topping:
* 1/3cup Red (edible) Rose Petals

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350degrees F. Spray the donut pan (or 2)with cooking spray.

2. Combine the cocoa, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Whisk with hand whisk to remove lumps and combine well.

3. In a separate bowl combine the egg, buttermilk, vanilla, oil, and milk. Whisk together to combine.

4. Pour the mixture into a well in the dry ingredients. Mix just to combine. Do not over mix, just enough to ensure any lumps are removed. Add in food color and mix it in.

5. Transfer to piping bag, pipe the batter into the donut pan (3/4 full only). Bake at 350degrees for 8 minutes. Donuts will be ready when they spring back when pressed.

6. When done, remove from the oven, and leave in the pan to cool for 10 minutes. Then invert on to wire rack to cool fully.

7. To make chocolate ganache, heat the whipping cream in a pan, on medium heat. Then pour the whipping cream over the chocolate (in a heat proof bowl). Leave for 1 minute. Then whisk to mix, until smooth and glossy.

8. Dip the donuts in the ganache, or place the donuts on the rack with a wax paper beneath, and pour the ganache over. Sprinkle the edible rose petals over the donuts while still wet. Leave to dry for 30 minutes (or more if needed).

Enjoy!!
